In Response To: Re: getting the Marathon CD music (Document) : I doubt it, and I'm pretty sure Youtube's buffering system downloads them to
hey thank you!!! no need, really. i always wanted to hear the original versions of the songs out of curiosity, and compare with what we got with the game transformed by the QT MIDI Instruments. they sound very different, and better... but if/when i want to go down the memory lane i listen to the QT 2.0 versions, which are the ones i grew up with :) one thing that stood out while listening is that the original sounds more... hmm... hard? rocker? big fat bass sounds, the drums —especially the kick drum— up front and literally kicking, some of the solo sounds have very sharp, almost piercing attacks which make them stand out a lot. it's a pity that the CD didn't include the more atmospheric pieces like New Pacific or Swirls, which are my favourites, and probably sound amazing with the Poly strings. and btw the Quadrasynth sounds a lot better than i remembered! thanks again,
