The Master Chief's armour in Halo is Mark V armour. However, as is outlined in the book The Fall of Reach, this is the latest iteration (with the recharging energy shields), and he's worn Mark IV armour, and I think Mark III armour. Can't remember exactly. But anyway, the point is, the Spartan Is didn't wear Mark IV armour. At least, not Mark IV Mjolnir class armour, which is the Chief's armour class.
Anyway, all this discussion is more or less moot, considering that it's the Master Chief's armour that is designated "Mjolnir Mk V", while the Security Officer in Marathon is a Mjolnir Mk IV cyborg. The difference is that it's the cyborg's class that is given in Marathon, while it's the Chief's armour in Halo. So no correlation there is possible at all. :)
