In Response To: Eternal Mk IV (Andrew Nagy) == Not Total Carnage I think the staircase down to the sewers might be too steep. I'd like to be able to stand at the top and shoot the Troopers at the bottom. == Un-Wired Badly needs a recharger and pattern buffer at the end, so you can survive the beginning of Core. == Can't TOZT This Take a Trooper gun, empty the bullets but leave the grenades. When you switch to another weapon, the rifle disappears. I guess that's an unavoidable feature of the engine? Unless you make the weapon reloadable, but that's a debate for later. This was actually quite fun on TC with the monster regeneration reduced, what with easy access to the pattern buffer and recharger. Aiming at the circuits would have been much easier if the grenades came out of the center of the gun image, instead of off to the right. == Perchance to Dream The "Do you remember" sentence by Durandal is kind of unwieldy, mb. So is the concept that Marcus has lost his memories of the previous Marathon games? Too bad it has to be obvious to the player, unlike the transition from PID to Marathon. == Carnagee Hall In the first terminal, one page is just one huge paragraph that looks like it could be split up. The phrase "I... I'm not sure" just doesn't sound like something an AI would ever say. Maybe he'd add it for effect, just to sound natural, if he was speaking out loud, but I don't think so. Put the chip in the elevator to go down, shoot the switch to come back up. I'm screwed and have to start over, right? Narrow halls + homing grenades = really freaking annoying. I'm talking about an area near the beginning; a small circle connected to two rooms full of weapons. There needs to be a way out of this Pfhor slime (other than dying), especially since Marathon's physics don't let you land on a moving platform. Was the original Pfhor Controller immune to staff fire? |
