In Response To: The Flood can spread without the rangers (Ciarán) I don't think what your saying about the quote is right. In fact i'm pretty sure its wrong. It's quite tough to explain why though but i'll give it a go. "343GS: You can see how the body's been transformed by the genetic restructuring of the Flood infection. The small rangers carry spores that cause a host to mutate. The mutated host then produces spores that can pass the Flood to others. It is insidious and elegant. As long as any hosts remain, the Flood is virulent." IF he means the small rangers are the 'little poppers' and the spores unknown microscopic particles then wouldn't he say... "The small rangers carry spores that cause a host to mutate. The mutated host then produces rangers that can pass the Flood to others." This process is observable in the game world - mutated hosts do produce 'small rangers', and the many 'small rangers' do rush around trying to pass the flood to others. The way he puts it according to you though, he is simply saying 'once your chest cavity is opened by a 'small ranger' you'll grow a disease and spread the disease to others'. This is not strictly a lie, but it is pretty uninformative, and an uncannily poor way of describing the process going on all around you. It implies that the poppers job as a sub-secies is done - once the first generation of hosts are infected the disease is spread directly by the hosts, without the use of the little poppers. It infects you, and you infect stuff without it afterwards. This ignores the fact that
I hope you understand where I'm coming from. If not never mind.
