In Response To: On the Subject of Hacking Halo (FrogBlast) This was inevitable. I've kept one ear to the ground on the xbox hacking scene and it was just a matter of time. When I saw the dump of a saved game here, that's when I knew the rest of the classic Bungie 'detritus' would be hanging around in the code, waiting to be tapped. Since the days of PiD, they've left extra/unused stuff that was probably not worth their time to extract. The thing is, those that *have* traveled around Halo without using these hacks will always be remembered as the true pioneers. This takes nothing away from FB and the others. The positive is that folks like Brian/Blackstar will now have a tremendous amount of freedom in getting some truly amazing shots. Let's not forget that Halo PC/Mac is only a few months away... we're going to be seeing even *more* hacking/modding tricks, and hopefully in much larger rez. |
