Like others, I think the earth image needs some changes. I would ditch the 3-D shading around the edges and go for a flat image instead. I'd also go for a view that included part of Europe. But I'd stick with just the two colors for earth. I think anything more will make the image too complicated, keeping in mind that if it's a flag it'll most likely be seen from a distance most of the time. Here's a piece about the effort of designing the new Georgia state flag. Some of the considerations they discuss are pretty interesting. -P
