Re: Cortana's voice

In Response To: Re: Cortana's voice (Jay, the younger)

: good god this is so far down the list now I bet no one sees it :)

You must be joking. :)

: Joseph
: mentioned the cold (accurate information) so I'll toss in that her voice
: over the radio also did not receive the same treatment in voice processing
: that it did in Halo. All of the radio voice in Halo was processed through
: a custom premiere plug-in setting whereas we relied solely on EQ passes
: for radio voice in the new trailer. No particular rhyme or reason other
: than that we had granular control over every snippet in the trailer
: whereas in Halo we batched processed radio lines through the afore
: mentioned plug-in (because there were like a thousand or so). Rest assured
: it is Jen... Oh and btw (just checking to see if this makes the dialog
: transcription)

No, of course we'd never accept input from the people who made the damn thing - not us, we're too proud. ;)

: there are three errors in the current version. The second
: admiral line should read: "*obliterated by static*...and get your
: picket back to rally point Alpha", the second general line should end
: with "...goddamnED apocalypse" and Cortana's last line is
: "What if you miss?"

Whoa. This last one comes as a surprise. I've just listened to it again - I had to listen to the newest (mpeg2) version to hear this clearly. The audio on its original (the wmp9) is CLEARLY superior to the audio on the quicktime versions. :)

Thanks!

after which of course should ensue a rapid
: fire discussion for the viewer of "miss what...oh man he opened the
: door...omg he jumped out wtf...ahhh he's going to kick some covy
: ass..." man what sack the master chief has :)

Nah - he's just been kicked one too many times in the noggin by nasty hunters. :)
