We should remember that although this is now being taken for granted (that the trailer release is being held up to coincide with the release of WMP9, and that it will be released in that format exclusively), it has not been confirmed by anyone with any real authority to confirm... we don't, in fact, know much at all about the release.

Before asking specific questions like "why has MS decided to forsake Mac users?" and "What tools are available for re-encoding of WMP9 material?", let's wait to hear what the situation really is.

It might be exactly what's been postulated here (that it's going to be WMP9-exclusive from Xbox.com, but that other formats might make it to the general public before too long)... or it might be something totally different.

Less than three weeks - let's not organize any lynching parties just yet. ;)
