Another victim of the imaginary Bungie/MS split.

Notice that the only people saying anywhere that we should only listen to Bungie are... people who consider themselves part of "Bungie" and not part of "Microsoft".

Notice there are no MS press flacks running around saying "that's about Bungie, better ask them."

I'm sure they don't like the suggestion-- and I don't blame them-- but when an Xbox project manager tells the Official Xbox Magazine that Halo 2 will be out for Christmas 2003, if it isn't, there's no magical dividing line behind which Bungie can step and say "we didn't say that". It's the *job* of MS' PR and Marketing depts to do this stuff.

It's lousy, of course, that PR and Marketing depts *like* to talk about stuff (because it's their job) and creative people and programmers generally don't like to until they are ready (so as not to mislead or disappoint).

But when the two groups work for different companies, then there's some merit to the division.

When they don't... there isn't.
