In the video, I'm "protected" by the structures in the cave. The Elite wants to fly straight at me, but he can't. If you jump up on the raised square things, he'll fly up and crush you.
Oh, they'll kill you in an instant if you're out in the open.
I don't think it matters what difficulty you're on. They ran me down several times when the Warthog flipped and I got tossed out in the cave passages.
