I think messing with hunters is great fun. It's certainly a valid, perfectly acceptable way to get up top. And all without weapons is very cool, too.
Don't get me wrong. I think it's a great trick.

The easy/simple part, well, I guess we don't agree on that.

I look at it from the standpoint of having to deal with a grumpy hunter, killing the other hunter to avoid his super blasts, making sure you have an overshield, luring the remaining hunter toward the rock, lining yourself up to get smacked, getting smacked. Not major issues or problems at all, really.
But, I think a grenade jump has fewer variables than that, and the Warthog has even fewer.

I'm not sure what any mode or any difficulty has to do with any of the methods. It just seems like there are less things to go wrong with the Warthog. I figure you've got greater influence over the Warthog than you do over the hunter. You just drive the Warthog and park it where you need it.

Hunter, grenade jump, and Warthog jump, are all fine methods for getting up top. Each has its own requirements.
