It looks like this pistol is a first generation form of the pistol we shoot in Halo. It has the rounded upward slope of the flashlight casing employed in the official Halo pistol, yet that grip is positioned more like a normal 2002 handgun. I think with the Halo pistol the grip is more central and the clip is longer, being extended from the bottom of the grip probably due to the rather large size of the round (20 mm?). I could see marines using that weapon say in the 22 or 23rd century.
Also wondering where the scope is on the original pistol -- there must be a wireless transfer of visual information from the pistol to those little helmet screens the marines use.
