We have asked these questions, or at least some of us have, we know the answers. : Why aren't the game magazines asking the same? Because their job is to review the finished result, not how the result was achieved : Why does all this little details always seem to flurish in the depths of any
I assume you mean "why do all the details get passed over" or some such, the reason why is because, the real question one should be asking are simple: Am I having fun ? If you want to be more specific you can ask further: Would I rather be doing something else ? And further: Am I watching a movie that I like or am I making the movie ? These questions need to be constantly revisited because of the changing enviorments. Ultimately all the game press is supposed to do is provide personal emotional response to the game, this allows consumers to make better choices about games. The game press usually goes further by critically examining the portions of the game, finding the parts they feel work and the parts that don't, identifying the parts of the game that one person may like over another. You just seem to have the notion that you have the only opinion that matters, sadly that isn't true, cuz the only one that matters is mine.
