On some level I agree with you, but I related so much with the other dude I couldn't help but laugh. I think it brings up a satirical dialogue between gamers and non-gamers (or non-story gamers).

And I always laugh when someone from outside the gaming culture makes a reference to how it was different when they play games, and they almost always go for Pong or 80's arcade games.
