If you can use the word, just, for an organism that never seemed to have one before. I imagine that Ken was just trying to get his head around the Elite mouth in the sense of understanding it's anatomy or even just trying to imagine how it would work. Because the Elite mouth is rather odd, having no floor and all. To me putting in that tongue makes it too normal and you might as well give it a floor to the mouth while you are at it. But I suspect that Ken was just trying to see if he could get it to work as a mouth. A mouth as we know it. That image may never have intended to be the finished version or last word on the subject. Does the text shed any light on this?
