Yeah, I know 343i is desperately trying to appeal to the Asian audience, but how many people have fond memories of the Virtual Boy? Even in Japan?

That said, this is one of the few helmets that doesn't look absolutely horrible, and I would like to see more. Specifically, I'd like to see what it looks like without the tape deck.

Threw it in Photoshop, turned the abomination color scheme to grayscale, and I must admit that it doesn't look too bad. The chin is a little narrow for my tastes, but it's definitely a step in the right direction.

Does anybody else think that it was supposed to be an evolution of the Pilot helmet, or is it just a hundred monkeys at a typewriter?

A few good design elements here. Wish they'd keep the undersuit black, so we can get a good contrast between it and the armor plating.

The helmet suffers slightly from over-detailing, and would probably look better without that nosepiece.
