Why would you do 1080i?

Just why? Computer screens ouput in progressive, when youtube converts it, they convert it to a progressive format. Computers think in progressive. It is rendered in progressive. The 1080i just introduces combing which looks awful in the YT converted 1080 and is a blurry ghosting mess on the YT 720 setting.
It's really a waste of everyone's time. If you want to offer a higher-quality video-over-youtube option, take the 720p recording and render it out to 1080p and then upload that. It won't be true 1080p, but it'll look more like the original 720p when youtube plays it back. If you're delivering the 720ps directly over mediafile, then that will have all the same information as a 1080i video would and would be more convinient for everyone.
