I totally didn't understand what happened in that final couple of minutes.

I picked up the core, and walked, pretty much unmolested, to within 20 yards of the capture point. In fact, at one point, I saw your team's Falcon coming towards me, and thought, okay, that's it... but it passed right over my head. (I even commented on it.) The falcon is what came back and killed me just before capping... but I respawned, headed right back to where I'd dropped it, and you (in a ghost) were the only one around. I picked up the core, mostly just to keep it from resetting... but you missed me with the splatter. And then you got busy shooting at someone else. So I walked it in.
