I mean, it was average until they arrived at Kilo 1, and then it dropped to levels that would make Micheal Bay roll his eyes.

I mean, yeah, these are Spartans, so I guess any weapon they touch is automatically going to become a hose of destruction. But shooting down a Vampire with a few shots from a "Specialty AR"? What's so special about it? Is it shooting 55mm high explosive shells? Is "AR" short for "Aircraft Reamer"?

Another question: Were the Covenant going to actually be shooting at anything? Or were they going to be zerg rushing the Spartans?

Going through the Q&A, I found something that troubled me the last time I read it.

As mentioned in the previous question, I’d love to see the development of humans over the 500+ year span. In terms of what could play into a good game, I think it needs to revolve around the Spartans – perhaps delving deeper into the Spartan development system and exploring their human side. Halo, to me, is about the Spartans. This is the main element of warfare which differentiates Halo from so many other sci-fi franchises. If we’re focusing on the marines/ODSTs, this is essentially a Starship Troopers story, bystander humans would likely turn this into more of an alien invasion horror genre – the backbone is and must always be the Spartan.

Essentially, this guy has the "Spartans make the show" mentality that's always bothered me about Halo spinoffs. That Spartans and their actions are most of what define Halo, and not actual storytelling. The fact that this is the sort of story he was bringing to the fiction doesn't surprise me.
