But then trying to replicate via discrete information all the tiny : subtle ineffable qualities that real humans have, that's setting yourself : up for almost sure disaster. That's the thing with animating humanistic : characters. Humans have evolved to be able to finely read other humans. If : you're looking at something that superficially looks human, but it doesn't : move or look EXACTLY like a human, that dissonance makes you go : "eughghghgh." It's your instinct telling you "this thing : isn't a healthy normal human; STAY AWAY." : But I understand that there's not much else RT can do with these kind of : scenes. To hand-animate them would take way too long. I guess quick and : dirty mocap is the most practical choice, even if it's a bad one. I kept looking at those scenes saying, "They are more believable with helmets on" They do a good job at give the body language enough to them character and feelings.
