Having it on the DS allowed for a great graphical upgrade, and the music quality got bumped up as well (hooray for Motoi Sakuraba!). My issue with Dark Dawn was more with the plot. They rushed story progression, while still just sending you on fetch quest after fetch quest. It felt like the plot needed to take longer, it was just too quick getting from one big event to another. Your party kept changing, etc.
