In Response To: Your flag must be at home to score! (pete_the_duck) I have always wanted to join in on games or game nights with people from this website(not the ones where you have to travel somewhere for a LAN party, no job=no money=no plane ticket) but I have always been a lurker on these forums, since I am to shy to participate in a lot of the forum discussions or ask to join in on custom games with other players from this forum. Unfortunenately right when I am starting to post more and get over my shyness I had to sell my 360 for cash to help my mom(and myself since I still live with her) out financially because she had major back surgery July 12th, and we have had to buy a lot of items to make her recovery easier and much more pleasant, considering my dad barely gives her enough money to cover the house payments and bills. So now as I am trying to make the leap from lurker to part of the community, I have no xbox of my own lol, so it makes it hard to join the community when I can only play Reach when my brother isn't using his xbox, and then it isn't even my own account.(I guess I could do an account recovery on his xbox and sign in on my XBL account when I have the chance to play Reach, never thought of that.) Went off topic with my personal situation, sorry about that, sometimes I just get going, especially now since I have a lot of pent up stress and frustration with being a 24/7 house nurse, I tend to ramble when I get the chance to talk to someone other than my mom. Anyways I was wondering how do you get involved in Custom Nights that different HBO members host? I would love to participate in some of these if my brother is not on his xbox when it is being hosted(He works Friday and Saturday nights, 830pm to 230am, PST). Hopefully most of these are done on Friday and Saturday nights, since it is the weekend. Do you have to be a very skilled Halo player? Cause I have to admit I used to be very good, but I stopped playing Halo on XBL a lot because I had no real friends that played, the people on my XBL friends list were just random people I met and I would usually be to shy to invite them to a party unless they invited me to play first. Also when I see the name/clan name Team Schooly D (is it 1 person's name or is that like a clan/group?) for some reason I think very dominant Halo player/s. Or is it just a group of people that know each other very well either from real life or from years of being an active member on the HBO forum? I would love to play Reach with members of this site/forum when I have the chance to use my brothers xbox, especially now since I am almost constantly stressed from caring for my mom. It would give me the chance to kick back, relax, and blow off some steam. Also this community in general seems to be very friendly and a nice group of players to party up with, whether you are extremely gifted at Halo or just play for fun. Once I rub the rust of my Halo skills, I can be above average player but I also like to have fun and joke around, but I love winning just as much. I just do not like to be super serious when playing a game that is a hobby, so I am a wierd mixture, I love to win and be one of the top players in that match, but I like to talk and hang out in a relaxed, have fun type of way. My attitude doesn't match my gameplay at all haha, since I play to win but joke when I talk. Wow again I just wrote and essay when I meant to ask a simple question, kids this is what happens when you have no outlet to talk about whats going on in your head. I get along with all types of people and my friends in the past have always told me they like to hang out with me cause I like to joke around, I hate drama and starting drama, and I think being an A-hole to other people for no reason just wastes a chance to have a good time with your buddies. Sorry about his turning into a long post, I tend to drift off and talk and talk when I don't have buddies to talk with and hang out with since they all went to college while I was at boot camp and when I came back since I am reserves, had nobody to chill with lol.
