In Response To: Essential Interview (Dani) : : An interview with Jeremy Patenaude (Mr Vociferous) about the new Essential : Visual Guide book. Great read. I can only say the right people were at the helm with the book. They managed to turn something that could've just been repeating superficial info from the games with some pretty pictures into a reference guide that clears up some inconsistencies and actually adds to the fiction. It's amazing how many details they managed to add in a limited space. I mean, this is exactly what I've been waiting for - expand on the little tidbits like ship class names, character birth dates, and the like that may not be mentioned anywhere else. And the guide was mostly meant as a simple visual introduction to the universe aimed at game-oriented fans. If they ever re-release an updated version of the Encyclopedia, I can only hope it'll be redone from the ground up and written by the same Halo fiction "dream team." If they managed to cram that much info into a space as small as the visual guide, they could do wonders with a text-oriented book aimed at the hardcore fiction fans.
