Who needs accuracy when you have 60 : rounds flying through the air? :) There's acceptable breaks from reality, and then there's this. An AR chambered for .338 Lapua would shatter suspension of disbelief (among other things). The average soldier would NOT be able to handle such a weapon. There's a reason why we downgraded from the 7.62mm NATO to the 5.56mm NATO for use in assault rifles. The M14, G3, and FN FAL were barely controllable in full-auto, whereas 5.56 rifles like the M16 have far more manageable recoil. The .338 Lapua, however, has almost double the muzzle energy of the 7.62 round. If firing it from an AR didn't break the user's shoulder on the first shot, it would be totally uncontrollable when fired in full-auto. It is under no uncertain terms completely unsuitable as ammo for use in an AR, and there's a reason why it's only used in specialized sniper rifles (usually ones equipped with a muzzle brake).
