In Response To: Re: Made a few (more) comparison shots. (bluerunner) There are interesting variations of iron sights in the real world. Trench sights, for example. But if you look at the classic M6D, and compare it to a screen from a low resolution flash video, you can tell where there is a notch. I don't think that the yellow dots are for pinpoint aiming, either. You can tell that they're secondary to the notch, which could both be seen to line up with the smart scope itself, or to match a front post that is covered when the scope is installed as seen in Halo 2. In Reach, the smart scope has a notch and post build in the back of it, giving a shorter sight radius, but allowing you to take aim in something relative to the way you sight a pistol with a suppressor on it. And me, personally, I still like the idea of flip up sights on the MA5 series. But sadly some of those concepts didn't make it all the way in.
