Well, that makes sense to me... there's natural weather patterns on the rings, right? Why wouldn't dust blow around and down into wide open structures like that? The original game looks so clean because of hardware limitations I imagine. Look at Halo 2, Delta Halo was a relatively dirty place, as far as they could render it.
