Miranda : Keyes was a Lieutenant Commander, so he probably just used the former part : of the rank. As of Halo 2 she was already a full commander. There is a reference to her Lt. Cmdr. rank in the extras that came with Reach Legendary when she first got In Amber Clad, but was promoted between then and Halo 2. In that same news article, Jacob Keyes is referred to as a captain when he was only a commander at that time.
