June 2011 REACH Population Report
Posted By: DEEP NNN <deep_nnn@hotmail.com>Date: 6/30/11 11:37 p.m.

These values are unofficial and collected manually by me from the Bungie REACH project page. I make no guarantees for the accuracy of this data and provided no quality control or quality assurance for my work in collecting it.

In the following graph I attempted to offset Halo 3 values such that similar days of the week for June were compared. I am not 100% happy because the result is affected by the fact that Halo 3's population curve was different than REACH's as weekends approached.

Disclosure for my collection methods.
I use a simple copy and paste from Bungie's REACH project page around noon local time. Not all values were collected at exactly that time. Occasionally collection could be off by several hours. I only guarantee that I have made no willful misrepresentations by deliberately skewing collection in such a manner that poor conclusions or comparisons could be made or that any numbers presented are anything other than attempts to collect data from Bungie.
Draw conclusions at your own risk.

My observations.
REACH's 24hr UU population in June started off from the lows of May and continued a steady incline until June 25 when it exceeded Halo 3 population for a similar day and time period post release. It has dropped closer to 700,000 and will continue to be negatively affected by the BLOPS Annihilation map pack but should see a very sharp spike on Bungie Day.
Highest population value collected 791,435.
Lowest population value collected 555,304.
Weekends typically have a higher population. That's a no brainer.
REACH population during June 2011, though starting out lower, is comparing favourably to Halo 3 during June 2008.

Conclusions
Halo REACH's population is very healthy and stable with the peaks and valleys continuing to be somewhat compressed. The increases may be attributed to both school holidays, hype from Halo CE Anniversary activities and Bungie Day festivities.
Sorry nay sayers, Halo REACH is not dead or dying. Proclaimers of such, should be shot with a frozen ball of their own shit.
If your Friends List is no longer showing anyone playing REACH, I recommend you get some new XBL friends. Actually, my friend list has increased in the number of active REACH players. So there!
