Actually, both Sangheili here are armored, it's just that their respective helmets got knocked off during the melee leading up to this pic.

I would add a bit of the fic to the description to give the full context of the piece, but it would be too spoilerish (and I haven't actually 'written' the scene yet, though it is the very next part I need to write).
