I'll second that. For me, really, it's instrumental music that helps you relive a story. Soundtracks are an easy answer as you can envision the movie/show/game as you listen, but there are some independent bands who are GREAT musicians (and I'm not talking just technical skills here) who create music that itself tells a story that you can follow from beginning to end, without lyrics. I love that :)
But yeah I'll second that - (original) soundtracks (as opposed to collages of 'inspired' band tracks) are, generally speaking, wonderful musical experiences!
