One of my favorite levels. It has such a unique atmosphere.

Truth just activated a giant Forerunner portal. The UNSC's final effort failed. The Flood are at Earth.

I can only imagine how Chief and the other UNSC forces would have felt.

Now you have to run through the city, watching your fellow marines slowly being infected and consumed by the Flood. You hear HalfJaw come on the radio and drop off some Elites, only to have them soon fall to the Flood as well(depending on your play-style.)

As if that wasn't bad enough... The Flood has evolved.

At the end of the slimy tunnel, Chief sees a Covenant device that seems to hold Cortana. He races for it, grasps it in his hands....

....then 343 shows up.

....and in the end, it isn't even Cortana. It's a message.

The increasing tension and failure after failure make you want to push forward harder, not give up. Its a fantastic level that shows that running through the same level backwards can be a totally new experiance. I didn't even realize I was back-tracking the same areas the first couple playthroughs.

You definitly capture this level's feeling in your photos, Hedge.

The SMGs are nice too. ;)
