I get the feeling it's been a LOT longer than that. Nothing concrete in the trailer to support it, just a hunch. I don't know how long it would take for that much ice to build up in the cryo area, but there is a much smaller amount of it when Legends/Origins takes place.

But it has been more than 2 years, based on this line from Legends:

Cortana: When I was born seven years ago, I already possessed the entire sum of human knowledge.

She was "born" in 2549 so this would make the year 2556 then. We can't really gather a whole lot else comparing the two though because of the artistic differences. Cortana might have changed her appearance at this point or maybe it happens later during Halo 4 like MC's armor and they're just teasing the new appearance.
