In Response To: A Fistful of Arrows (pages 38-41) *IMG*s (Leviathan) I am a Halo fan. I love great art. I love the story of the Halo series 8 trillion times more than I'll ever like the gameplay. And I love the gameplay. I have extremely high standards for Halo stuff. Unfair standards, maybe. But they're mine. And Levi, this THING that you've made (it's more than a comic) makes me very, very satisfied. Satisfied; that's a word I wish I could hear myself say more than once in a blue moon. In my life I have seen better art. In my life I have seen better story. But in my life, I don't think I've ever seen a fellow fan add non-canonical material to the Halo universe in such a way as to be able to be equal to or better than canon, and for the medium by which he does so to be so high of a quality. My favorite part is the dialogue; it is so obvious to me how you limit yourself when you write dialogue by deriving every single thing that they say, and more importantly how they say it, from what you experienced during the games. This is a quality that I wish more people appreciated the value of. You could be making them say whatever the heck you wanted them to, but no, you choose your words and delivery so that I can model in my mind exactly what Jun, Jorge, Kat, Carter, or Emile would sound like saying your dialogue, and you make it sound like it came from the game itself. So, Levi... Thank you. This is so much better than my jaded and pessimistic self is used to hoping for. This is so much better than so much of the absolute and utter crap that has come out (Bloodline, Boot Camp, etc.). Unlike people who were PAID to do this kind of work, you do not disappoint. Thank you. Signed,
