In Response To: Re: Something looks wrong with The Silent Cartogra (Stephen L. (SoundEffect)) : My issue is I mapped some of the notable location out ages ago. There is an : island on the surface (6 actually due to repeating textures) that would be : about the size of the cartographer island and isolated from other land : masses. Now that's changed. Isn't it likely that's no more than coincidence? That Bungie never actually mapped out any of the locations of any particular maps to any particular portions of the map that we see on the ring surface? Also... given the nature of the surface, from spinward to antispinward there's no horizon since the surface rises up, rather than dropping away. In the direction of the walls, there's no appreciable curvature, so the limits on visibility are purely atmospheric. Is there any reason to believe that even at a location as remote as the island you previously chosen, that absolutely nothing other than water would be observable in any direction?
