I don't think I took that, that's Snake Angry Old Man on that 'goose. He weren't with me... I would like for Urk to hear your plea though :T : Ah, Co-op Night! It seems a lifetime ago, doesn't it? Let me tell you, it : certainly feels that way for me. Towards the end of our co-op nights I : felt something similar to what Marcus Lehto described, with his brain : throbbing Reach, Reach, Reach. In the meantime, papa's got bills to pay, : The Man to answer to, and the many hours I'd spent daydreaming about : Wednesday nights had taken their toll on my REAL LIFE responsibilities. So : once the co-op contest ciphering was over, I simply collapsed in a heap, : only to get up quickly and realize it's crunch time and I've got deadlines : from people who pay me $$$. Oh Sh*t! : So ... that's what I've been up to, if you've missed me. Racing against a deadline... Were it so easy. Oh but we have missed you! Until last week, I still had my 8:55 alarm for Wednesday nights (I couldn't forgive myself for missing out on Tip of the Spear night, so I devised a way to never lose track of time again). Every time it rang, a wave of hope, then despair washed over me. But I hope the Real World hasn't been too rough on you, us here in the fake world will always be available for support! Just wake us, when you need us (or tell Bones to). : Let me tell you what happened a little over one month ago. We played the : final level of Reach, and then we played the final final level of Reach, : and it was awesome. Yes! : Here are some highlights (now jampacked with even more video!): I took a lot of screenshots, and resisted taking any more since, even though I should have realized that I could just save them... But anyway, I put them all into an album viewable at the bottom of this post. : Regarding munitions going the extra mile, this stray needle was intent on : killing Loftus, even after he was dead. Now you're extra dead! You didn't quite link it Kermit, so I did it for you :3 : Who saw that coming? If it makes you guys feel any better, KornyMunky's : "assistance" in the same situation involved shooting the : forklift with a fuelrod. Hey, I was just getting even with Stephen! Look what he had done to me earlier! ..... Though now that I think about it, just a minute before.... And then, to rub it in... Hmm..... Was I wrong? Bah, details. : Dielectric Flux claims that a sadistic Korny was trying to kill him by making : the the laser backfire, but Korny claims that Flux's good health was : foremost on his mind. The jury's still out, but note that this was before : Bones made this kind of FAIL infamous later that night on Lone Wolf. : This is the sort of co-op play I love to see. Dielectric Flux, : Scalemaster117, and DMFanella come to KornyMunky's rescue. I've immortalized this moment in one of the Album's images below! A few more interesting tidbits: Don't underestimate Korny's perpetual dumb luck with Stickies... Don't get in cars with strangers... And most importantly, DON'T DRIVE YOUR TRUCK UNDER A SCARAB! : Lone Wolf : Dielectric Flux : had a decent strategy, hanging out on the roof of the "house," : but that was too dangerous to last very long. Alas, fate was on his side that night, and while it may not have saved him for long, a miracle occurred no less: That's right. Unshielded, and practically hit right in the back by a Wraith blast, only to shrug it off. : A Few Final Notes : The real highlights of the night was the lobby before the games started. I : can't recall ever being in a maxed-out lobby with so much good cheer and : positive anticipation. Bones had prepared a little speech for us, and I : have to say, it was amazing. Sean Connery himself could not have delivered : it better. Heck, listen for yourself. Bones was the cherry on top in that lobby. The spirits were high, and I couldn't stop smiling and laughing. Almost brings a tear to one's eye. That lobby was Beautiful. No other way to describe it. The good feelings were palpable, and for those few minutes, we were all brothers. : Now starting about five seconds into that I was biting my knuckle almost : until it bled to keep from giggling hysterically, and when the speech was : over the lobby erupted with laughter and well-deserved words of praise for : the performance. Well done Bones, well done. : I want to sincerely thank all of you who played. And I want to sincerely thank you Kermit. Your Co-Op nights may have taken a toll on you, but I am really, really glad that you did them. They've been something I've looked forward to since you started them, and know that the only night that I missed out, I was fully planning to attend. Almost ALL of my favorite screenshots couldn't have been possible without you organizing this. In fact, both of my screenshots featured in the All-Stars were Co-Op night pics. Who knows when we'll band together for more Reach Co-Ops, who knows when we'll actually play Nightfall correctly again, and who knows if anyone will ever get to feel the pure joy we did sitting in that lobby that final night. I hope people do one day. I hope we all do again one day. This was your thing Kermit, and I don't know if I'll ever be able to really show my gratitude. Halo is the fiction I grew up with, it's why I love HBO. But Co-Op night is a huge example of why I love the people of HBO. I loved that we'd end up in randomized teams (Except that one night when Monkey chose Bones, Snipe, and myself. All the top-scorers in one team). We got to know one another better. Thanks again Kermit, I can't wait for ODST, and I'm always, always willing to help you out in any way. I am at your service. :Padraig whipped up something very special for us. Consider : this a parting gift from him and from me. What a handsome bunch you are. Dang, look at Stephen up there, pure awesomeness.
