I've had that happen, as well, on New Alexandria. I was fairly far into the level and it happened just as I hit a checkpoint. I must have been flying a bit too low to begin with, because I had all of two seconds to try to shake the thing off before I got pushed into the "death zone". It was particularly frustrating becuase up until then I had managed not to die while playing on Legendary (I think I was trying to unlock the Carter avatar helmet).
