In Response To: Re: Should also go here (Leisandir) Yeah, the Jolly Rogers F-14 has inspired an awful lot of things. Its pretty much the iconic image of the Tomcat. Probably dates back to the 1980 movie, The Final Countdown. Some of the best dogfighting and real air-to-air footage ever caught on film. Even if one of the F-14 pilots on the day did make a bit of a miscalculation and nearly ended up plummeting into the sea. Was so dramatic they included the footage in the movie. Funny thing is, the F-14 is so big and heavy, it actually struggled to keep up with the 'Zeros' at those speeds.
