In Response To: Re: If it's pitch-perfect, awesome. Otherwise... (kapowaz) : The Library? Maybe with the introduction of the more interesting different : flood combat forms from Halo 3, that level could actually become a little : more interesting. The ranged flood forms from Halo 3 would need some serious tweaking in order to work. They were the main reason I hated the Flood levels in H3. That said, the Library could use some revisiting. As would some of the backtracking in the later levels. As long as the changes would be mostly to gameplay/levels and not the story, I'd be OK with that. In fact, the gameplay would have to be updated to justify the remake, since as someone said earlier in this thread, isn't that the whole point of a remake? Keep the story the same but bring in all these things introduced in the later games. Remaking a game for the graphics only would be pointless - for a game as new as Halo: CE. In fact, I have no problem with its graphics. A remake would just add all the new elements ("sandbox" as they like to call it) to the same story - if I want to play the original, I can always play it. Nothing is lost. As long as they don't add nonsensical things that don't make sense in the context of the timeline/story, such as the target locator or the Halo Wars armor like in the new The Flood cover, I'd be fine with a remake. However, in order for it to stand on its own, it should have more content than the original; ie. not a pixel-by-pixel remake. Slightly different, even longer levels, some areas overhauled to accommodate for the new gameplay additions, etc. As stated before, the original game will always be there. A remake should make best use of the assets available at the time, but not add anything unnecessary just because it's "new" and "cool".
