In Response To: Thoughts on Reach (4K words) (Cody Miller) I agree with some/disagree with a lot of you said, but I think my main gripe is about your last 5 paragraphs, the ones dealing with missions advancing the story. Please, please, please, pleeeeaaaaasssssseeeee tell yourself this is a video game and not a movie. It's not a TV series. This is a straight up video game. The purpose of video games is to engage the user in situations and have their input be reflected as enjoyment. Yes, video games are story driven, and Reach definitely is a story driven game, but to enjoy the story it needs action. That's why Bungie makes action packed levels such as Sword Base, Tip of the Spear, etc. And isn't the main point of Reach to defend Reach? Why are you saying defending levels doesn't advance the story? Put 2 and 2 together bro. I will agree with you on the how much the Elites rock in this game, and my first run against hunters on heroic took fooorreeevvveeerrrr. And I like that they switched up the jackals shooting hand to the other side, took me a while to readjust to popping shots at them when I've been so used to shooting the other side of them. Sneaky Bungie, sneaky :-P
