This doesn't really answer the question, but, I wanted to point out that I'm pleased Bungie didn't kill off everyone in game. It goes to something I really liked in Reach - it very much feels like war, compared to other Halo games. Kat getting sniped was a heartwrenching, senseless moment. It just wasn't fair, but then again, welcome to hell. With Jun, it just *makes sense* Carter would send someone with Halsey. It's better than some, 'Hey Jun, leave Halsey, I want someone to hold my hand while I kill this Scarab with my face.'
