: ARRRGHHH

: The marines that fly off the bridge!... gotta love that specific peice of
: audio.. haha

: Wilhelm Scream Compilation

I soooooo hope it wasn't just dubbed in. The series could use a Wilhelm scream.

: On another note, I was dissapointed that there wasnt a massive battle after
: that cutscene.. i think that would of been an awsome moment to play in.
: Its the kind of "epic" im hoping Reach delivers..

I'm fairly neutral on that. HUGE vehicle battles are IMO usually underwhelming and feel forced. I'm thinking back to HCE and H2 here; in H2, there are situations where you fight HUGE waves of ghosts, but those sequences never really "feel" even remotely close to as big as some technically much-smaller vehicle battles that take place in the first game (such as the first snow area of AotCR).
Even the 2-scarab battle in The Covenant that's supposed to be SOOO BIIIG never struck me as particularily spectacular. Sure, it feels a lot bigger than repeatedly noob comboing silly apes, so I guess it feels big compared to the unbig stuff it's bookended by, but it's still straightforward and formulaic enough that it really feels like Bungie was operating on a quantity>quality paradigm when they made it, and it sputtered out as a result.

An analogy might be that of blowing a balloon; if you blow it up carefully, it gets big. But if you get too excited about huge balloons and keep blowing, you wind up with a popped balloon. It was supposed to be so big, but wound up effectively so, umm...tiny?

I still consider the battle at the end of Two Betrayals to be the largest in the series so far in a practical sense, even if it is technically far smaller than some other stuff. Practical size trumps technical size.
