No prosthetic arm??

saw an interesting theory on NeoGAF. Kat looks to have a normal arm here - http://www.neogaf.com/forum/showpost.php?p=23004506&postcount=5221 (they coulda CG'd the robotic arm in, but they didn't?) ...if that's the case, could this be the how Thom died (since there may not have been time to escape the Cruiser)? why they needed 6 in the first place? I know, highly doubtful/nigh impossible, plus Jorge is there too. I know the Thom story is a bit different but the basics - rushing headlong into the fight, Kat feels responsible - are still there.
