Last Exit, Alpha Site, and Crater seem like they would be death pits in the middle. Just my opinion. You brought up the other thing I'm confused on: invasion maps. I realize that they designed some of the maps with invasion in mind, but I don't see why we can't play just good old fashioned BTB slayer, territories, assault, or 1 flag on them. Why act like they're only going to be used for two gametypes? I'd be really disappointed if all we got to play on them in matchmaking was invasion and invasion slayer.
