In Response To: Re: Woah I agree. (Hedgemony) I understand that some people are going to trust 343, being made up of some ex-Bungie people, and well, some people are trusting people. But, I have my own reasons for not trusting them, and I feel they're legitimate: 1. Halo 3 was partially influenced by Microsoft, having Frankie get involved, and most likely other forces we weren't entirely aware of. I feel Halo 3 was the worst game of the series so far (And I'm not saying it's bad, but if it wasn't for Forge and Customs, I would have left Halo 3 years ago). Bungie then goes and declares that they no longer want to be owned by Microsoft after Halo 3 comes out. My best guess here is that Microsoft was trying to interfere with development too much, Bungie didn't like this, and I think it shows. The game feels just...different than Halo 1 and 2. It had some elements of that Bungie charm and awesome, but it wasn't the same. I blame Microsoft's involvement for why Halo 3 wasn't the best it could be. The way I see it, if the bad parts of Halo 3 are due to Microsoft's involvement, then maybe thats ALL we're going to get in the next Halo game by them. That doesn't sound like a game I want to buy. 2. Microsoft is first and foremost a moneymaking machine. They really don't care how good the product is. We know they're going to milk Halo until the cow dies, and that means ruining the franchise eventually. It's bound to happen. At least Bungie knew when to stop. 3. Bungie makes Halo. That's kinda the way it's been forever. I have a natural mistrust of anyone else trying to capture the Bungie magic. 4. They'll be continuing Halo 3's story, no doubt, and I take issue with that. Go on and create your own story, but don't try to continue a Bungie story in a Bungie way, because it won't live up to expectations, and it'll just end up being more extend-the-series garbage. So...Yeah. Me not trust 343...At least not with games. I love their story stuff...I just don't trust them with my vijagames.
