In Response To: Halo Reach 2010 Trailer (Lightning0Struck) : A trailer for Halo: Reach that I put together. I worked a bit on it, so I : hope you like it. Music synching? It fit perfectly for me, especially when the first view of the Sabres rising in the distance while the soldiers watch on - the piano there was PERFECT. It fit the mood perfectly. Hell, the music was synched and I didn't even notice, and that's something trailers usually force onto the readers. "Hey, lookit me, I can synch video and music! Aren't I the bees knees!" Nice and subtle. Voice actors? Spoken lines? Those always diminish trailers for me, especially fan made ones, which generally lack the professionalism of, well, professional trailers. But this one got a lot of emotion and impact across with just music, clever editing, and stirring visuals. Text? Too often are trailers punctuated with cheesy text. "In a world without law... A hero comes to light." "When there is no hope left, we turn to _____" It's supposed to sound inspiring, but you'd think no one in Hollywood had ever picked up a book before. HOWEVER, "Before this planet falls... You shall rise." is original, a clever take on the trailer's content, relevant to [i]Halo: Reach[/i], and it just sounds damn good. And not one bit of cheese. Well done. Overall, a great video. Stirring, nice graphics with the Sabres and environments, and it actually got me even more excited for the advertised product. Obligatory Nitpick: The clip from the E3 campaign trailer, where the sabre is revealed and Six climbs in, seemed a bit long. At first, I took it as filler; you know, the required few seconds of officially released content to beef up the trailer. So it kinda irked me, until the reveal with all the Sabres flying upwards. In other words, it was just a nitpick. Not even, really, and you should probably go tell me to fuck myself just for bringing it up. Keep working!
