Are you suggesting it was their desire to remove all their old artifacts from their colony worlds? I never got that impression. Leaving them there allowed them to be remembered as a race.

Also, the keyships were destroyed prior to activating the Halo array so some other means must've been used for the reseeding. That was likely all automated by various Sentinels as the Forerunner either died or escaped.
