In Response To: The Package on Saturday (Frankie) : I will try to get on and answer questions about the Package tomorrow. Or at : least the first part. Part II has WAY more things people will be asking : about. Which in turn has NOWHERE near as many freakout moments as Origins. I have some questions and problems for you to chew on Frankie. :) 1. When is this episode set in the timeline? There's a bit of an issue which I discuss in the next question. 2. Why are the Spartans equipped with MJOLNIR Mark VI? There's no gap in the timeline between Halo 2 and Halo 3 that allows for this to happen, so it must be before then. But the first time the Chief gets his Mk6 armour is in Halo 2, after it's tested in the HGN. The Mark VI implementation has been pretty extensively covered, so this seems like an improbable mistake. Please tell me this was artistic. I do not like "ONI prototypes" as an excuse because it's a bit of a get-out clause for any continuity gaffes. 3. The battlecruisers fired lots of lasers, very little plasma-type weapons. My understanding from the books was that the bulk of their weapons were akin to larger, faster, more powerful version of the turrets on the Phantoms and Shade turrets - guided streaks/blobs of plasma that rapidly fly through space towards their target. hence how space battles always have awesome parts where they manage to dodge the incoming plasma streaks and how glassing is always described akin to purple raindrops falling on a planet. Was this artistic? I ask because I always prefered the idea of "purple rain" to nigh-clichcé lasers, but I'm prepared to let go if this is now canon. 4. Those booster frames seem a bit godlike. 3 Spartans laid waste to a sizable chunk of that Assault Carrier. I thought humanity was supposed to be losing this war! Forget Marathon Cruisers, we need to get Marines on space bikes, that'll teach those darn Covies! I'm guessing this was artistic too? :P 5. Oh man, stop killing Spartans you guys. It makes them look so lame if they constantly die. I know they aren't invincible, but how often do we see normal Marines get wasted? Hardly ever. It would be so much more effective, in my humble opinion, if the anime showed us how bad it was for the normal men because there's no impact in these Spartan deaths; it's all we ever see. They don't seem special now. I know this isn't a question, but I wonder if you have any comment on this topic? All in all, that was a pretty good episode, Frankie, but it left me with a few too many questions. If you take the time to answer, much appreciated, if not, well, you've at least bothered to read this far, so thanks anyway. :P
