It's true that the Halo network has Sentinels maintaining it, but it's not clear that that's the case for other relics we've seen, like the tablet at Sigma Octanus, the caverns and the time crystal at Reach, the keyship at High Charity and the Ark portal at Earth. Furthermore, we don't really know why the Halos were been so apparently overengineered. I dunno. I just want to believe that someone educated at 343 keeps track of what fictional materials they're using and makes sure they're not any more audience-insultingly implausible than they have to be. Or at least that they're not just pasting in a standard ancient-race plot regardless of how well it fits Halo. Not too optimistic about either. Ditto on TVTropes.
