In Response To: Re: Personal Review of The Babysitter (Frankie) : "Berger" not "Burger" Potato potawtoe...except...you know, pronounced the same. : Hair, yes. Every episode too, but it varies wildly - some is much more
So non-canon then. I'm fine with artistic license. Basically, if there was ever a canon version of this story made (even live action, as you suggest), Cal would sport a buzz cut of some sort. : Scale: Deliberate artistic notion and actually fairly common in Anime - it
I understand artistic use of scale (it's used a lot in Paranoia Agent and FLCL). And holy crap, Tekkonkinkreet is awesome, so I know Studio 4˚C is capable of pulling it off. However, some of the shots seem like simple continuity errors...that is to say, the discrepancy in height serves no artistic purpose in said shots, so why bother? The only place it seemed appropriate is during the river fight with the Brute. I don't mean to argue Frankie, I still thought Babysitter was a well told, well executed story overall. I'm just hoping Origins is more on par with Studio 4˚C's crowning achievements. : It's interesting to see how folks are digesting this stuff. Imagine how it
I'm digesting it just fine, in the same way I digest a McDonald's burger. It's Ok, but it certainly isn't gourmet. Halo is perfect for animation in general (everyone wears helmets, so none of that "animating mouths" business...you know, like Desert Punk). As for live action, I would think it would turn out awesome. I would shave my afro and donate it to you if you pushed for another Neil Blomkamp short...or whoever handled the ODST commercial, those were great too. I'm really looking forward to the Prodcution I.G stuff, and to the Bones stuff...being that both studios are responsible for some of my favorite anime. Also really wanting to see the Casio Entertainment short. Basically, I want to see it all, and I have high hopes given the high profile studios.
