I like the sentiment you have here, and I think you're touching on something but you're not quite there.

As morpheus has said before, this montage was slowly paced. This is think is a negative thing in that these types of montages are best at highlighting action, which is the opposite of slow really. A fast paced and action oriented montage only makes sense if you are trying to show of exciting play, since in a montage you're picking and choosing the best parts anyway. It may be interesting to watch someone skilled play unedited, but that is not the purpose of a montage.

Your sentiment against manic editing and outrageous effects is welcome though, since many people create the illusion of a fast pace with these things. Ultimately, the best thing to do is to display fast paced action in its own right, using editing as a means to enhance that instead of compose it. Don't shy away from editing and transitions though, because they are great tools.

Of course making a good montage is hard; it requires good play, but you can go for any angle you want (humor for example). As long as it is consistently interesting, I think the viewer will be entertained. Interesting usually means skillful or unexpected.

As for the intensity, it doesn't have SCART or RGB connectors, so make sure you've got composite or component before buying it.
